Mines Nancy is committed to growing its global educational reach, providing learning opportunities for its students and recruiting the most talented international students. To achieve these goals, we ventured into new regions in South America and Southeast Asia, focusing on creating new partnerships and showcasing our top-quality engineering programs to a wider international audience.

Recruitment and Partnership in Colombia

Mines Nancy, alongside six other engineering schools such as IMT Atlantique, IMT Nord Europe, IMT Mines Albi, IMT Mines Alès and Mines Saint-Étienne, participated in the October IMT recruitment mission in Colombia. Led by an IMT project director and the IMT correspondent in Colombia, the delegation’s primary goal was to recruit exceptional candidates, focusing on students from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL).

The delegation conducted interviews with UNAL candidates. A highlight of the mission was the visit to UNAL, where Mines Nancy presented to the university’s “Programa Mejores Promedios” students, who are also working towards B2 French proficiency. The visit also included a discussion on the potential collaboration agreement between Mines-Nancy and UNAL.

Further interviews extended to the University of Pereira, engaging candidates from UniAndes, IMT’s recent partner. The week culminated with a visit to UNAL’s Medellín unit, where the candidates showed great enthusiasm and knowledge about the French institutions involved.

Promoting Academic Excellence in Malaysia

In Malaysia, strategic discussions with the Embassy of France in Kuala Lumpur and Attaché for Science and Higher Education were instrumental for Mines Nancy. The focus was on promoting the school’s engineering education and introducing its advanced programs, particularly the new Erasmus Mundus Joint Master GREENANO, to prospective students in Malaysia.

Establishing a Presence in Indonesia

Mines Nancy’s debut in the Indonesian educational landscape was marked by its participation in the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF). This event, a collaborative effort with several European representative offices including the Institut Français, took place in two major Indonesian cities: Surabaya, the country’s second-largest city, and Jakarta, the capital.

The fair attracted over 3000 Indonesian students eager to pursue higher education in Europe.

The fair featured both virtual and physical formats, allowing Mines Nancy to reach a wider audience and engage with students in a more dynamic and accessible manner. Mines Nancy had a great opportunity to showcase its high-quality engineering programs and innovative teaching methods.

Exploring Collaboration Opportunities in Indonesia

In addition to participating in the European Higher Education Fair, Mines Nancy initiated strategic dialogues with two of Indonesia’s leading universities: the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Surabaya and Universitas Indonesia (UI) in Jakarta. These initial discussions were aimed at exploring potential collaborative pathways in interdisciplinary education and the development of comprehensive student and faculty exchange programs with the goal of enriching the academic experience for students at both institutions.
