Determined to shine internationally, Mines Nancy knows that it can count on the attractiveness of its partner networks. At the top of the list are those of the Institut Mines-Télécom, the University of Lorraine and the Alliance Artem. Each year, it welcomes 25% of foreign students and its engineering students must spend 6 months abroad.

With more than 80 cooperation agreements with institutions on all five continents, Mines Nancy now focuses most of its partnership efforts on the Brics*, Canada and emerging countries such as Vietnam and Colombia. This has not prevented it from strengthening its long-standing ties with Morocco, Algeria and the Middle East, and from renewing its relations with Germany and the English-speaking universities of Northern Europe.

Leaving earlier

Mines Nancy offers several international events throughout the year, whether in the form of lunch conferences or cultural sharing meetings. In addition to these awareness-raising activities, the school’s ambition is that its engineering students should be able to go abroad from the second year onwards, provided that their timetables are adapted: this is a valuable help in integrating into an increasingly globalised professional environment and a further step towards international career opportunities.

Providing the best possible welcome

As far as the reception of international students is concerned, everything is in place to encourage their integration and success, from training in French as a foreign language (French Summer School) to support in terms of accommodation, including specific tutoring which will soon involve students and teachers. This is a legitimate concern when you consider that 1/4 of the engineering students at Mines Nancy are international students. In addition to student exchanges, the School encourages the mobility of teacher-researchers and is working to strengthen its already dense network of relationships with French companies located abroad.
