EDF and Mines Nancy have formalized a strategic three-year partnership aimed at addressing the increasing demand for skills in energy and the energy transition. In a context marked by accelerating decarbonization, electrification of uses, and the development of sustainable energy infrastructure, this ambitious collaboration seeks to train and attract the engineers who will build tomorrow’s energy systems.
A partnership at the heart of energy transition challenges
In response to climate and industrial challenges, EDF and Mines Nancy are committed to co-developing:
- innovative educational initiatives
- training pathways tailored to energy-related challenges
- strengthened employability and career integration programs
This collaboration also aims to foster the exchange of expertise and raise awareness among students and the wider public about the major challenges of the energy transition.

Strong growth in skills demand within the energy sector
This partnership is part of EDF’s sustained recruitment momentum, particularly in the Grand Est region:
- 450 apprentices to be recruited in 2026
- 700 apprentices trained in 2025
- more than 200 graduate hires (Master’s level) planned over the next two years
With more than 800 students trained each year, Mines Nancy represents a strategic talent pool of engineers to support these transformations.
A concrete collaboration embedded in academic programs

- EDF participation in the school’s governance bodies (Board of Directors and Academic Advisory Board)

- organization of industrial site visits (Chooz nuclear power plant, Framatome Jeumont facility)
- MasterClass on civil nuclear geopolitics led by an EDF expert
- participation in the public consultation on the Fessenheim Technocentre industrial project
