Mines Nancy offers international students the opportunity to take part in an intensive training programme in French as a Foreign Language during the summer period (July and August 2022). The main objective of the Summer School is to prepare students, linguistically and culturally, for studying science and engineering at degree level in France.
The Summer School is open both to international students who would like to continue their higher education at Mines Nancy and to students seeking to improve their level of French while experiencing life in France.
The Summer School’s objectives:
- Help students adapt to France linguistically and culturally
- Prepare students for enrolling on an engineering course in France
- Promote students’ autonomy and responsibility by allowing them to have full agency of their studies
- Provide students with all the necessary resources (teaching staff, study materials and digital platform) required for effective language learning in an immersive environment.
Dates and programme:
The Summer School takes places over two periods: from 4 to 29 July and from 1 to 26 August 2022. Students may choose to take part in the one-month or two-month programme depending on their personal goals.
Note that students must have at least B2-level French to begin studying at Mines Nancy effectively.
Summer School classes are scheduled on mornings and/or afternoons (3.5 days a week for a total of 18 hours a week).
The Summer School programme combines classroom studies – focusing on communication skills – with cultural activities. The final programme will be adapted according to the students’ profiles (level of French, native language, fields of study, interests, etc.).
