From 3 to 5 September 2025, Mines Nancy will host the 4th edition of the international conference “Academia Stands for Green Deal”, bringing together researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to discuss the key challenges and solutions for a sustainable and digital future.

This high-level event, co-organized by Mines Nancy, the University of Lorraine, and several international partners, will take place on the Artem campus and is part of ongoing efforts to connect academia with societal priorities defined by the European Green Deal.

An evolving format for an evolving world

This year’s edition introduces several new, interactive formats designed to deepen engagement and encourage collective thinking:

  • Panel discussions with distinguished speakers from academia, industry, and public institutions will address topics such as green skills for the twin transition, funding for sustainable innovation, circular economy, and the strategic role of raw materials.

  • The “Mission Green Deal” simulation game will offer participants an opportunity to step into the shoes of policymakers, researchers, and business leaders to collaboratively shape realistic sustainability strategies.

  • The conference will also inaugurate a new edition of the “Metals and Mineral in the Energy Transition” exhibition, showcasing an immersive journey into the world of critical raw materials for the green and digital transitions. The exhibition combines scientific content, artistic creations, and interactive tools such as educational games — designed for audiences of all ages.

A conference rooted in impact

“Academia Stands for Green Deal” is part of several European-funded initiatives coordinated by Mines Nancy, including HERawS and GREENANO, and supports the broader mission of the school to integrate sustainability, innovation, and global cooperation into engineering education and research.

Participation is free of charge but registration is required.
