A programme in line with market needs!

Due to changes in the needs for cybersecurity solutions and services, we have identified gaps in initial and continuing education in the field.

In our view, the Nancy Mines and Télécom Nancy initiative is a move in the right direction and we are convinced that the objectives of this training are in line with market needs. We fully support this degree course, which provides top-level learning and is strongly vocationally oriented.

Research excellence

Jean-Yves Marion, Director of LORIA

This high-security laboratory, unique in France in an academic context, is a work platform which our students have access to in order to conduct experiments in the sensitive area of malware attacks and cyber-physical systems.

Reasons for choosing the course

    1. Programme co-delivered by Mines Nancy and Télécom Nancy, two schools recognised internationally for their research into information systems security.
    2. Programme on the scientific and technical fundamentals of information systems security.
    3. Top-level speakers: professors, researchers, consultants, industry professionals and experts.
    4. A bespoke environment: The High Security Laboratory (HSL) in Nancy is a research platform that offers a legal framework and tools for working on computer security.

The programme

The programme is divided into two parts:

From September to March:
Teaching (360 hours) takes place in the form of classes, tutorials, coursework projects and lectures. Practical work is carried out on an experimental platform: Siemens and Schneider controllers.

From April to late September:
End-of-studies work placement (6 months): internship in a company or laboratory, completion of a dissertation and defence of a professional thesis. The work placement can be carried out in France or abroad.

Placements and projects

Because we understand the importance of operational skills, the course includes a six-month work placement.

The placement can be carried out in a company or laboratory and the student is expected to produce a dissertation and defend their professional thesis. It can be completed in France or abroad.

Examples of student placements

  • TRACIP Nancy: Study of attacks in virtual environments, signature and trace identification, IOC
  • TRACIP Nancy: Analysing RAM dumps for signatures, signature and trace identification
  • SOGETI Luxembourg: Deployment of security solutions, solution auditing
